Newport Beach, CA Engagement Shoot // Karissa + Rahul
This photoshoot began in a quiet neighborhood in Newport Beach, California. I spent some time scouting the area for the perfect home that fit the aesthetic of the shoot. After our first destination, they hopped in their vintage Porsche Speedster and drove through the OC, landing at Little Corona Del Mar. We parked the car and grabbed a few shots in the glowing sunset, making heads turn in awe to wonder “who is that stunning couple?” Finally, we walked down the long path to the beach where I had prepared a charcuterie picnic with crackers, cheese, salami, green grapes, and white wine. This part of the night we let loose and have fun on the beach. One of my favorite things in this experience is stepping back and letting the couple have some alone time where they can simply enjoy each other, and the sunset. Once the sun hits the horizon, it turns into blue hour, and the light become creamy and diffused, the perfect pair for the most stunning combination of colors!
Their Story :
Like most of today's couples, Karissa and Rahul found each other online. Rahul sent Karissa a very special "rose," indicating to her that she stood out to him in a big way. After that first date, they both knew immediately that there was something different here - something very special. Although Rahul was deep in the trenches of his Cardiothoracic Surgical fellowship and Karissa was at the start her Orthodontic career, nothing seemed to stand in the way of their relationship. It is said that "true love is someone who will cross the 405 for you." The pair did just that - for an entire year! They traveled far and wide together... ... And even learned some things from each other. Then, one sunny August afternoon, Rahul transformed his entire apartment into a dreamy candle-lit scene. He got down on one knee, and asked Karissa to spend the rest of her life with him. It was the easiest "yes" she had ever said. In him, she had found her soulmate, and she knew that Rahul felt the same.
